Opened in January 2006, the Chesapeake Boathouse is an architectural gem on the north bank of the Oklahoma River. Designed as a fully functional boathouse for rowing, kayaking and dragon boating, we also offer a unique place to hold your bridal/engagement shower, rehearsal dinner, or reception. Our event space is also ideal for business meetings and social gatherings. The beautiful Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Regatta Park is located just north of the boathouse and includes a landscaped canal and picturesque waterfall that’s perfect for photos.
The Chesapeake Boathouse event space includes the OAR event room, a lobby with 24-foot glass walls overlooking the river, and a spacious deck with a reflecting pool. The OAR event room can seat up to 100 people for a buffet or seated dinner, or up to 200 people for a reception. It includes a 60" plasma screen, A/V equipment, a built in buffet, 12 tables and 56 chairs. The lobby has a built in bar area and is spacious enough for a DJ or small band and dance floor. The wrap around deck is the crown jewel of the space; surrounded by a reflecting pool, the deck can be used for café style seating, reception, a band or DJ. For larger gatherings, tents can be placed on the boathouse lawn. The rental comes with handicapped accessible restrooms and a catering kitchen.
